Dr. Judith
B. Sauceda earned her Ph.D. from the University of Colorado while raising
four children and teaching in
the Denver Colorado Public School System. Her major field of study
was The
History, Anthropology and Philosophy of South West Indigenous Peoples
and Women. Dr. Sauceda has continued to expand her studies in
Shamanism with Sandra Ingerman, John Perkins, Lakota Holy People, Alberto
Villoldo,
Mary Blankenship, Jais Sais, Jose Luis Herrera and numerous Peruvian
Shamans. She implements all of her experience and training in her private
sessions, ceremonies, healings, lectures, and workshops. Dr. Sauceda is a
regular participant at Sundance at Pine Ridge and Rose Bud as well
as Northeasetern Arizona. She travels regularly to South America to
continue her training with Peruvian Shamans. |
In 1989 Dr. Sauceda founded Takoja Institute, a not for profit organization dedicated to Mother Earh and all of her Children. Dr. Sauceda founded Takoja as a vehicle to teach individuals and groups how to be in balance and harmony with themselves, the planet and all life. It is her hope that each individual she comes in contact with will share what they have learned with others so that we may all survive on this planet. |
Dr. Saucrda's oratorical expertise has led her into the teaching and lecture/seminar field throughout the West and Southwest regions. Included in her circuit are the University of Colorado, Metropolitan State College, and Scribbs in Los Angeles, California. She expounds upon a wide variety of topics: ancient beliefs, current non-political issues, spiritualities, sociological structures, and multi-cultural similarities. All of these have a profound impact on lifestyles today, as well as projections on lifestyles yet to come. |
Dr. Sauceda is a highly talented and experienced visionary artist whose art captures the essence of our planet's indigenous spirituality and the universality of all humankind. Acclaimed as a skilled colorist, her works reflect the constant energy and flow of the cosmic order - it's beauty, consistency, and continuity. Her harmonious chromas warmly invite the viewer to be absorbed into the painting and share the thrills of her vision of the universe. The visionary quality of her work bespeaks of respect for all life and the responsibility for its continuance. Through strokes of her brush, experiences of the past, realities of the present, and her visions for the future are shared with the viewer. Shown extensively for the past 15 years, Dr. Sauceda's works continue to grow in color and spiritual intensity. She is a prize winning artist from several juried shows and has also received recognition and acclaim for several one-woman shows held in Colorado, New Mexico, and other exhibitions coast to coast. Her artwork has become a prized possession in numerous private, corporate, and museum collections with slides of her pieces on file at the Women's Art Museum in Washington, D.C. |
